Winterthur Museum and Country Estate, once the home of Henry Francis du Pont, features an outstanding collection of antiques and a glorious naturalistic garden. After a $39 million renovation, Nemours Mansion has reopened to the public. This magnificent estate of Alfred I. du Pont, is a 47,000-suqre-foot mansion is furnished with fine antiques, famous works of art, beautiful tapestries, and other treasures. The surrounding formal garden were modeled after Versailles.

Brandywine River Museum is known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of the Wyeth family and its outstanding collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting. Victoria Wyeth guides public tours of works by her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth, and by her uncle, Jamie Wyeth at the Brandywine River Museum. The N.C. Wyeth House and Studio and The Kuerner Farm are also available for public tours and offer another glimpse into the artistic legacy of the Wyeth family. Enjoy lunch at Simon Pearce on the Brandywine, a unique venue offering a glimpse into the craft of glassblowing and a one-of-a-kind gift shop. Walk off your meal at the historic Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site, the site of the largest single day battle of the Revolutionary War, or along the banks of the beautiful Brandywine River, where canoeing and tubing activities are also an option.
